After the hike we like to enjoy a good meal and a good craft beer, or as we call it “The tasty treat at the end of the trail”.
There are quite a few excellent breweries in Northwest Montana. The following list is not a complete list of breweries in Northwest MT, its only the breweries that we have visited to date (list is a work in progress!).

Northwest Montana Breweries

bonsai brewing

Bonsai Brewing Project- Whitefish, Montana

Bonsai might be the hippest place in Whitefish and they also have some of the best beer I’ve had anywhere (and we’ve been to a lot of breweries all over America).

Bonsai is about a mile or two from Downtown Whitefish and is located in a house that was converted to a brewery and tap room with a fair amount of outdoor seating, which is like drinking with friends in your buddy’s backyard.

The tap room closes at 8 pm (Montana law) so make sure and get there early and have a bite to eat we’ll you enjoy great beer, cause the food is great too!

Montana Tap House

Montana Tap House – Whitefish, Montana

The Tap House is not a brewery but has a great selection of local beers on tap from most of the breweries on this list. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the beer they serve, and the bar has a cool local vibe.
If your visiting Whitefish and can’t do a brewery tour, the Tap house is the next best thing.

Kalispell Brewing Company

Kalispell Brewing – Kalispell, Montana

Located in the heart of Downtown, Kalispell brewing has quite a few beers on tap and all the ones we tried were all very good. If you find yourself in Downtown Kalispell, stop by and try and some.

Located at 412 S Main St, Kalispell, MT 59901 http://kalispellbrewing.com

Bias Brewing

Bias Brewing – Kalispell, Montana

Bias brewing is not far from Kalispell brewing and also in downtown, but a few blocks off the main drag.

They have a nice selection of beer, but I found them a little less flavorful then I like and some odd ingredients like spices and peppers. Although not my cup of tea, it’s a nice place and good vibe, and since everyone’s taste is different, you might just love their beer.

HA Brewing – Eureka, Montana

HA brewing is just outside of downtown Eureka and is a full functioning farmstead with a micro brewery and a tap room.
Ha is a really cool place with really good beer. HA has a great tap room and good outdoor seating. The tap room has a very earthy feel to it, with super friendly service and patrons.
Last time we were there a guy trotted up on a giant Clydesdale horse. He pulled two growlers from his saddle bags, went inside had a beer, filled his growlers, and road off into the sunset. Definitely not something you see every day unless your in Montana.

HA used to have a food truck that served some of the best pizza in NW Montana from “Fire & Slice” pizza. The pizza truck is no longer there but you can still get it at there place in downtown Eureka at 602 Dewey Ave
